Let’s Taco’ Bout This Self-Help Book
MAY, 2023 — Wahoo's Fish Taco in Middletown is thrilled to announce their upcoming book signing event for author, marketing professional and professor Brianna McCabe as she debuts her self-help book, The Red Flags I've (Repeatedly) Ignored.
Lori Palumbo Hernando, an owner of Wahoo's in Middletown and Colonia High School (CHS) graduate of class of 1989, is proud to host this event for fellow 2011 CHS alumnus McCabe. Palumbo Hernando graduated alongside McCabe’s mother, Lisa Maloney.
“I am proud to support Brianna with this event,” shares Palumbo Hernando. “She has some crazy yet beautiful stories to tell, and she’s able to connect with readers and put herself out there which is really admirable.”
The signing for The Red Flags I’ve (Repeatedly) Ignored will take place on Saturday, May 6 from 2 - 5 pm at Wahoo's, located at 1147 NJ-35 in Middletown Township.
“I don’t know what my mom is more excited for: my book signing or a potential mini high school reunion,” jokes McCabe. “But all kidding aside, I think it’s beautiful that I’m able to connect with these individuals and share my story in the hopes that it can make at least one reader chuckle, feel validated, attain inner peace, release anger or resentment, shed a tear or even just feel entertained enough to keep turning the pages.”
In The Red Flags I’ve (Repeatedly) Ignored, McCabe puts herself on the line in the hopes of cracking the code on sex, love and relationships, but instead learns what it means to actually love herself. She navigates the dating scene—eliminating potential boyfriends one red flag at a time—and shares all of her funny, raw and real details with readers along the way. Throughout the book, McCabe also offers a self-love roadmap to readers.
“Writing this book was therapeutic for me as it allowed me to reflect on my life from a mature, compassionate and even light-hearted perspective,” McCabe explains. “I hope to motivate others to take a look at their own lives, especially as it pertains to all that is their dating decisions and overall experiences. In the end, I want everyone to know that we’re all beautiful beings worthy of love and respect, but we must first set those boundaries and philosophies within ourselves.”
