JANUARY 2024 — Author Brianna McCabe is partnering with local Barnes & Nobles across New Jersey to promote her self-help dating book, The Red Flags I’ve (Repeatedly) Ignored, and connect with readers to spread awareness of the signs of toxic relationships.

A native to New Jersey, McCabe is on a mission to help others avoid heartbreak by sharing stories of her own. Her book is one of growth, resilience, and self-discovery — one she hopes others can use to heal and find their strengths.

Her first stop will be at Barnes & Noble in Union, NJ on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 2 - 4 pm.

“As a professor at Kean University, it only felt right to start my book blitz here in the hopes of connecting with my students, both former and current, and others within the community reinforce the necessity of solidifying your own sense of self-love,” shares McCabe. “That concept alone is so crucial for establishing healthy boundaries, definitive deal-breakers, and respectful relationships.”

In The Red Flags I’ve (Repeatedly) Ignored, McCabe puts herself on the line in the hopes of cracking the code on love, and relationships, but instead learns what it means to actually love herself. She navigates the dating scene — eliminating potential boyfriends one red flag at a time — and shares all of her funny, raw, and real details with readers along the way.

“Writing this book was therapeutic for me as it allowed me to reflect on my life from a mature, compassionate, and even light-hearted perspective,” McCabe explains. “I hope to motivate others to take a look at their own lives, especially as it pertains to all that is their dating decisions and overall experiences. In the end, I want everyone to know that we’re all beautiful beings worthy of love and respect, but we must first set those boundaries and philosophies within ourselves.”

Throughout the book, McCabe also offers a self-love roadmap to readers.

McCabe will also be collaborating with Barnes & Noble in Somerville, NJ on Saturday, March 24 from 12 - 2 pm and Barnes & Noble Princeton, NJ for a book signing on Sunday, March 24 from 11 am - 2 pm.
